Chapter 4 · The empty tomb

Everything rides on this.

Christianity doesn't say “be nice and you'll feel better.” It stakes everything on one event in history, open to investigation like any other: Jesus died, was buried, and three days later walked out of his grave. Paul, one of the first Christian writers, put it bluntly:

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
